This role is a hands-on leader within the organization actively engaging team members in safety initiatives and driving the overall safety culture within the facility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Develop, maintain and improve safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Responsible for developing, organizing and delivering all health, safety and environmental training.
  • Facilitate and support management in investigation of all injuries, near misses and property damage incidents and prepare mandatory reports and forms on a timely basis.
  • Review plant compliance with federal and state safety and environmental regulations, advise management and make suggestions for improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations for safety improvements and purchase of safety equipment.
  • Maintain all EHS safety related records and documentation.
  • Perform job safety analysis and report KPIs.
  • Conduct new hire/ contractor safety orientations.
  • Lead plant in achieving a safety-oriented culture of accountability.
  • Improvement of Safety Recordables.
  • Conduct periodic audits for compliance with safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage workers’ compensation, including submission of claims and monitoring of cases.
  • Facilitate an effective safety team.
  • Provide input to and assist in managing department budget.
  • Performs other duties as needed upon request of immediate supervisor

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for driving the safety, health and environmental initiatives within our facility by assessing existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce safety risks to employees and equipment. Responsibilities involve monitoring process capabilities, installing control systems, participating in equipment designing and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection, health and safety aspects are significant concerns and this position plays a vital role in our continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Safety Manager
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety.
