Responsibilities

  • Supports the Production Supervisor in all aspects of manufacturing, training and quality. Providing technical support as needed to achieve desired performance.
  • Attends all training classes and seminars that are scheduled for the technicians.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner, complies with all safety rules including ZES and confined spaced entry.
  • Monitors all process and support equipment to ensure a quality product.  Ensures all process parameters are set within range and deviations are completed for all out of control limits.
  • Set-up/Changeover process.  Conducts audits to insure correct product recipe compliance.
  • Reviews lab data and control charts and makes adjustments to process and document changes as needed. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance per defined schedule, ensuring operator PM’s are completed and signed-off.
  • Performs routine or minor maintenance of equipment.  Assists Maintenance in replacing belts and changing filters and other routine maintenance as assigned by production management.
  • Troubleshoots process and equipment issues using analytical trouble shooting and other tools.
  • Drives forklift for movement of various items in manufacturing area.  Complies with FIFO system for raw materials.
  • Maintains housekeeping expectations. Conducts housekeeping audits and report findings.
  • Achieve Key Performance Measures; Safety, Quality, Uptime and Yield.
  • Trains fellow team members on equipment and procedures.
  • Rotates into support point roles, i.e. Safety, Training, Maintenance and Process, responsible for being the point person for the various positions for communication and follow-up on key issues.
  • Uses JHI operating system for O&B, winder and slitter operations.
  • Covers for the Production Supervisor when they are out for vacation, sickness etc.
  • Covers production operator positions as needed. 

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:  

  • 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Very good computer skills
  • Very good communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours (12-hour rotating shifts)
