Responsibilities

    • Purpose: Responsible for all manufacturing operations in the Nashville Extrusion Plant.  Manages all aspects of manufacturing operations to achieve the objectives for this location and support the objectives of the company.
    • Dimensions: This position is responsible for the supervision of Team Supervisors and  responsible for all direct and indirect production employees.  This position will also have director responsibility for the management of the extrusion maintenance team and line PM activities and repair activities

 

  • Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
  • Work to support the highest level of safety within the plant
  • Provide leadership and direction for manufacturing staff toward achievement of plant and Company objectives
  • Ensure appropriate staffing for the operations of the plant
  • Involvement in development and implementation of training matrix for operators and maintenance personnel; help ensure an educated workforce through support of pre-employment testing and advancement criteria
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and internal and external customers
  • Work with external staff (sales and marketing, R&D) to support our customers
  • Ensure Operations and Maintenance Team has tools to effectively and efficiently make the product to customer satisfaction and demand
  • Focus on waste reduction in all forms; implement lean manufacturing principals in terms of inventory reduction, quick changeovers, maximized efficiencies
  • Work closely to insure new products fit the plant’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Act as liaison between manufacturing operations and plant management staff
  • Act as liaison between maintenance team and plant management staff
  • Assure preventative maintenance activities for the lines are covered and prepared for monthly PM
  • Cover Extrusion plant management responsibilities in the absence of the Site Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant director

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.  Demonstrated capability and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years manufacturing experience, preferably in plastics.  Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience.
  3. Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and reaching.  Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
