Responsibilities

 

  • Performs all work in compliance with all EH&S standards and company procedures/policies.
  • Always ensures safe installations and operations through proper design, protection systems, procedures, and training. Supervision of Lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs problems with production and facilities equipment.
  • Develops Total Productive Maintenance (TPM = Predictive, Statistical Predictive, Preventive, Corrective maintenance activities) plans for all plant and facilities equipment.
  • Coordinates plant electrical maintenance related to a Total Productive Maintenance program.
  • Attend daily morning meetings to assist in identifying the priorities for the day.
  • Complete continuous improvement projects to increase safety, quality, uptime, and cost.
  • Progress through outside training to continually develop electrical, electronic, and PLC knowledge.
  • Provides training to technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis when involved in the associated failure.
  • Coordinates vendor involvement for assistance with equipment.
  • Reviews work orders with resources as they are received, asks for clarification, and confers with the requestor for additional clarification when needed.
  • Originates, processes, prioritizes, and/or completes work orders as needed.
  • Orders parts involved in repair and maintenance with assistance from the maintenance team.
  • Serves as a key contributor during preventive maintenance shutdowns and performs necessary maintenance tasks as required.
  • Documents all modifications made to equipment during repairs.
  • Familiarizes self with new equipment and trains personnel.
  • Stays informed of operational activities and process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment.
  • Participates in large installations and equipment modification projects.
  • Maintains a team effort attitude and approach.
  • Monitors plant and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned and unplanned downtime.
  • Corrects any issues relating to I/E design of plant equipment.         

 

  • Provides ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by participating in the plant’s on call program. This includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Enhances facilities services and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

A 2-year electrical/electronic degree and at least 5 years of experience working as a maintenance technician with industrial equipment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
