Advancement within the Material Handler job classification is based upon the criteria set forth in the advancement procedures. Material Handlers are responsible for performing the following duties:
· Assist with line start up and shut down activities and procedures.
· Transport raw materials from the warehouse to the extrusion line.
· Load/unload raw materials into the hopper system and calibrate it according to run plans.
· Handle and prepare scrap material for recycling throughout a run.
· Assist with die cleans, feed block changes and emboss/rubber roll changes.
· Understand and follow the machine SOPs and safety policies.
· Assist in operational tasks such as loading/unloading trucks, inventory activities, and maintenance efforts as needed.
· Maintain a clean work environment by cleaning floors, machine surfaces, walkways, platforms, hoppers and all other areas that could potentially result in product contamination.
· Work cooperatively with others in a self-directing team environment.
· Work in a safe manner. Report any safety hazards to Pilot Plant Supervisor or R&D Director.

a) Education: High School Diploma or GED
b) Experience: Previous manufacturing experience required. Extrusion experience preferred. A Magnera forklift operator license will be required (we will provide training and testing).
c) Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a plant environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less, and the use of office equipment. Demonstration of leadership ability and an understanding of the basics of extrusion and/or conversion.
