Responsibilities

The site production manager is responsible for providing effective leadership and daily guidance to all manufacturing departments while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Oversee all manufacturing-related activities concerning safety, quality, productivity, and cost control. Foster a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement. Establish and lead safety objectives for the plant.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and lead safety objectives for the plant while ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing function to ensure the most effective return on assets
  • Interact regularly with Operations Frontline Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership. Be a visible presence in manufacturing areas
  • Support regional quality standard systems for commercialization, SPC, and preventive and corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with the daily production schedule.
  • Conduct daily operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings. Ensure budget and financial forecasts are developed and met.
  • Partner with Finance function to provide accurate operational information, establish product costs and update standard assumptions
  • Partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective, and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels, and delivery of finished goods.
  • Partner with the Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital.
  • Support regional quality standard systems for commercialization, SPC, and preventive and corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem-solving and cost reduction.
  • Ensure effective labor utilization within departments to allow for maximum return on labor investment.
  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to production volume
  • Establish management practices in department to encourage employees’ positive involvement, with the opportunity for constructive input and action
  • Responsible for directing and executing the planning process to drive continuous improvement activities in the department.
  • Responsible for training and development for the department.
  • Direct or support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades
  • May lead or participate in regional or global projects
  • Provide backup for Plant Director
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in manufacturing, preferably textiles, extrusion, or paper. Six Sigma green or black belt preferred.
