Responsibilities

Based in Aberdare, S Wales

Main Job Function www.tubex.com 

Responsible for supporting the safety of the assigned production areas and personnel, under limited control from the area supervisor along with the ability to follow a plan and meet targets.

Use SCADA and ERP systems to ensure that all lines are running to the plan and any deviation to the plan are reported or actioned.

Responsible for issuing the SOPs to the personnel who carry out training and carry out show tell the supervisor activities on the back of it. 

Use TPM as part of the production lines control whilst ensuring the upkeep of data and KPI accuracy. Ensures the proper organization of production rooms and leads the cell leaders when issues arise. Have the know-how on how to start and run manufacturing lines.

General duties / responsibilities include but are not exclusive:

·       To work within the department’s safety instruction & health and safety guidelines.

·       Manage assigned operators on designated production lines ensuring they are compliant with safety guidelines including PPE, compliant with quality guidelines and working to line run rates.

·       Assist with R&D project work.

·       Work constructively with other departments within the organisation.

·       Manage tooling for storage, damage and booking out. Audit cell leaders on how tooling is treated/handled

·       Confirm all lines have finished goods packaging and request replenishment of all that are low.

·       Support with each diameter change and confirm 1st off before leaving line.

·       Raise & complete Work requests / Hazard reports

·       Carry out tool maintenance

·       Prioritise actions to improve Quality if necessary.

·       Rectify any Quality defects, documenting what corrective action has been taken (RCA).

·       Assist in the training and development of Trainees / Apprentices.

·       Complete documentation accurately.

·       Comply with all Company procedures.

·       Support Supervisor in 5s Audits

·       Support in ensuring productivity KPI’s are achieved

·       Support Cell Leaders on day to day tasks.

·       Use machine data to improve line efficiency

·       Attend machine breakdowns as the first point of call prior to maintenance being informed.

·       Assist with process improvements and NPD trials

·       Communicate necessary information with other shifts and departments.

 

The preferred candidates will possess the following attributes:

 

·       Ambitious, technical leader with manufacturing experience

·       Excellent communication skills.

·       Hands on experience of assembly and settings tasks advantageous.

·       Team orientated with good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively to tight timescales

·       Proven problem solver

·       Self-motivated and confident to act on their own initiative whilst working effectively within the organizational team

·       Experience in Extrusion will be beneficial

·       Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365

 

Shift Pattern:

Week 1 - 7am to 3pm

Week 2 - 3pm to 11pm

Week 3 - 11pm to 7am

(Monday 7am to Saturday 7am)

Qualifications

Manufacturing experience preferred, team lead experience, fully fluent in written and spoken English
