Overview

This role operates on a 5-shift pattern working 12 hour days/nights (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) on an annualised hours basis.  The role attracts a salary of £38,645 and every 7 blocks of shifts there is an 18 day break.  All holiday hours are incorporated into the shift pattern.

 

We are currently seeking an individual on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2025, working in our Finishing Department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the reeler operator with all aspects of machine loading and machine operating procedures.
  • Remove finished coils from machine and prepare for dispatch in line with packaging and weighting instructions.
  • Ensure that the workplace is kept clean and tidy and that safe working practices are always adopted.
  • Ensure aequate supply of packing material is available.
  • Ensure finished coils are transported to the packing section.
  • Assist reeler operator to inspect paper for faults and take appropriate actions to rectify where possible.
  • Carry out appropriate cleaning operations whenever reeler machines are shut down.
  • Ensure accurate production records are kept in respect of paper reeled and broke produced and that all coils are suitably labelled for auditing purposes.
  • Ensure that all product is accurately weighed and labelled according to customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Awareness of ISO procedures.
  • Awareness of Safe Operating Procedures, Health and Hygiene regulations, Fire and Emergency procedures and any other deemed necessary.
  • Awareness of Customer Finishing Specifications.
  • Awareness of computer and labelling systems and other relevant equipment.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Competencies

 

  • Good manual dexterity.
  • The fluctuating nature of the papermaking process often requires a flexible approach to both work activities and rest periods.
