This position will have responsibility for all finance and accounting activities for the Nashville facility. The individual will ensure timely monthly closings and submissions of budgets and mid-month cost forecasts. This individual will analyze monthly actuals and mid-month forecasts for variance conditions and negative trends and make recommendations for improvement to the General Manager, Plant Manager and the Vice President, Finance. The position will play a leadership role, in conjunction with the Plant Manager, to optimize the profit potential of the facility.
This position will have frequent interface with Nashville operating personnel, sales and marketing personnel and corporate financial and senior management personnel. The individual will also interface with the plant controllers of the other locations to drive consistency through our processes.
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate monthly closing process including physical inventories, reconciliation of inventory balances, accruals, and analysis of financial performance.
• Develop plant budgets and ensure Oracle standards are consistent with the budget. Coordinate plant input to the Five Year Plan.
• Develop quarterly forecasts of plant performance and explain variances to the budget and prior year. Make recommendations to the plant management team to ensure achievement of budget targets.
• Prepare, analyze, and approve cost estimates for new business and product proposals. Provide post-mortems on product contributions vs cost proposals through reporting mechanisms.
• Drive location compliance to Sarbanes Oxley internal controls. Report deviations to senior management and internal audit on a timely basis.
• Comply with the quarterly / annual audit requirements of the plant’s financial statements and processes.
• Supervise staff and supply objectives that are in alignment with the company’s strategy.
• Present financial results to the management team and provide leadership for continuous improvement.
• Continue to advance reporting tools through JDE and SAP for financial reporting.
Must be a self-starter capable of operating with limited supervision.
Supervise the accounting department at the location.
Qualifications:

a) Education: Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA, CPA and/or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) a plus.
b) Experience: At least 8 years of financial and cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous controllership experience is a plus.
c) Other Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and database applications (Oracle or Access). Significant understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and at least some exposure to ERP systems. Hyperion experience is a plus.
d) Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Must be able to travel overnight.
e) Equipment: Must be able to operate basic office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.)
