Responsibilities

Accountable for ensuring the safety, uptime, quality, waste management, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of the asset. Responsible for guiding and directing the team to fulfill their assigned job responsibilities, comply with fundamental expectations, and execute Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 5S practices, and relevant systems with precision.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All tasks must be carried out safely, with a strong emphasis on the safety of team members.
  • Actively participate in and promote all safety initiatives, including Behavior-Based Safety (BBS).
  • Fully understand and utilize ISO procedures, control charts, histograms, CpK, and other Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and measurements; recommend improvements based on statistical data and observations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure that products meet customer-required and recognized quality standards.
  • Prepare and analyze reports, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinate, review, and communicate customer specifications and changes effectively.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations teams.
  • Assist the Shift Supervisor in identifying training and development needs for team members and support the execution of individual development plans.
  • Understand and effectively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.
  • Present asset results in meetings clearly explaining the factors that contribute to downtime, waste, quality issues, rate fluctuations, and other occurrences, along with strategies to prevent them in the future.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry, including but not limited to production and downtime reports, incident reports, and the distribution of specifications.
  • Responsible for safety, product, process, and compliance audits; training of new team members; and team member certifications and recertification’s.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and peers to address problems and enhance the team's capabilities.
  • Ensure that the necessary information is shared with the team through effective communication methods, including meetings, postings, and other appropriate channels.
  • Provide the Shift Supervisor with relevant information and data for performance reviews, conflict resolution, training and development, as well as for identifying potential challenges or opportunities.
  • Assist operators and coordinate troubleshooting activities, referring to the Process Technician or Engineer for root-cause solutions to recurring issues.
  • Train others as needed

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED equivalent is required. Technical degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment. Personal computer experience, specifically with Microsoft Office products.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
