This role is to oversee the safety, coordination and effective running of the daily warehouse operations. Leading the development and implementation of systems, processes and training whilst supporting manufacturing and liaising with supply chain departments to achieve customer satisfaction.
SAFETY – Ensure that you and your work colleagues are not put at unnecessary risk of harm. It is expected that you will not only follow company safety policies but will actively ensure others do the same. · Ensuring BBS and Near Miss targets are met. · Responsible for managing accident & incident investigations and completing required forms. · Review, update and complete risk assessments. Developing and implementing control measures to lower risks. · Ensure the team adhere to all EHS policies. · Ensure equipment is maintained and checks/inspections are completed in line with company policies. SUPERVISORY TASKS · Ensuring SOP’s are up-to-date, and work is undertaken by trained and competent team members. · Ensuring skills matrix is updated and necessary training is scheduled and completed. · Measuring and monitoring daily KPI’s. · Responsible for approving holiday, whilst maintaining acceptable levels of resource to match demand. · Managing sickness recording, return to work process and any over time requirements for the team. GOODS IN – Any material arriving into the warehouse. · Ensure ‘Goods In’ are being processed in line with the defined processes. · Planning for large deliveries relating to space and resource. · Liaising with Purchasing & Logistics to resolve delivery issues and highlight quality concerns. GOODS OUT – Any material leaving the warehouse. · Ensure ‘Goods Out’ are being processed in line with the defined processes, and are dispatched on time. · Reviewing the warehouse schedule to best plan resource and equipment. · Liaising with Logistics & Customer Service on special requirements for loading/packing. · Responsible for the accurate dispatch (quantity and product type) of customer orders. STOCK ACCURACY – The correct quantity in the correct location. · Ensuring cycle counts and critical counts are completed and descerpancies are investigated. · Responsible for creating item journals to correct stock, for review and approval by line manager. · Work with the team to resolve accuracy issues related to quantity / location at the time of discovery. · Participate in stock takes when required. SECURITY – The safeguarding of our stock. · Ensure department infrastructure and processes are adequate and in place. · Ensure warehouse areas are locked/secured at the end of the shift, including doors, gates or fencing. HOUSE KEEPING – Maintaining safe, efficient and effective working areas. · Ensure housekeeping is maintained by coordinating house-keeping activities and implementing best practise with the team, including clearing finished goods holding areas on the shop floor. DISPOSAL OF SCRAP – Material destined for named recycling centres. · Log and arrange collections of general waste compactor, cardboard or metal skips. · Oversee loading of scrap vehicles and verify accurate completion of scrap disposal paperwork. FLT FLEET · Responsible for updating Optifleet and TRAKER fob syetem with user permissions and liasing with external providers to schedule equipment inspections or repairs. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT · Liaise with Ops Manager to support production team with available resources. |
Education (Degree/Major) | English & Math’s GSCE (A-C) Industry recognised qualification in Supply Chain or equivalent experience (desirable) |
Other qualifications | Knowledge of WMS systems. |
Work Experience | Experience in team leading within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. A combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to supervise varied and changing departmental demands. |
