Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for supplying raw materials to the production line, moving finished goods from production to warehouse storage locations, and removal of waste materials from the production line.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operates PIV to move various items in the manufacturing area. Complies with FIFO system for raw materials.
  • Complies with OSHA and hazardous material regulations pertaining to PIV operation and material handling and observes mill and departmental safety rules.
  • Operate dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issues identified.
  • Responsible for safely transport full sized loads of finished goods and raw materials of various sizes using PIV.
  • Loads and unloads trailers to receive material and transfer material to support the production lines.
  • Ensures full traceability by scanning raw material and finished goods.
  • Responsible for various inventory transactions using barcode scanner and/or computer systems
  • Monitors first in-first out inventory transactions.
  • Responsible coding, labeling and wrapping any bi-products with minimal errors….in order to what?
  • Conducts SLOC movements in SAP and ZME transations.
  • Safely stores and removes A items.
  • Identifies first in and first out raw material requirements…in order to what?
  • Safely flips and stages bales properly on line 5, if applicable
  • Safely states bales and pulp roles on Line 6, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring that dumpsters are emptied in open top.

  • Responsible for safely locking and unlocking doc plates
  • Responsible for installing load jacks and wheel chalks….why?
  • Required to safely remove pucks from Briquetter…in order to what?
  • Demonstraes ability to conduct safety inspections and LOTO procedures for PIV.
  • Inspects equipment to identify any replacements, malfucntions, and repairs; recommends improvements.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner, complies with all safety rules. Identifies and reports unsafe operations to leadership immediately.
  • Troubleshoots process and equipment issues using analytical trouble shooting and other tools.
  • Able to prepare all required documentation in a legible complete manner.
  • Complies with hygiene policy and non-conforming materials procedures.
  • Participates in cycle counts as required.
  • Maintains housekeeping expectations. Complete housekeeping audits and reports findings.
  • Accountable for achieving key performance measures for safety, quality, uptime and yield.
  • Contributes to waste management programs.
  • Attends Tier One meeting and plant wide meetings; Attends all scheduled training.

Education/Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Two (2) years manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Six (6) months PIV experience, preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours
