Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in optimizing site-wide asset reliability and ensuring timely, efficient execution of all maintenance activities. This role is responsible for developing preventive and corrective maintenance plans, coordinating parts and materials, supporting compliance activities, and facilitating smooth workflow across departments. The Maintenance Planner will work closely with operations, engineering, storeroom, and external vendors to ensure maintenance tasks are properly planned, materials are staged, and work is scheduled without disruption to production. This role also provides direct backup support to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop detailed job plans and preventive maintenance tasks with accurate labor estimates, parts, tools, and safety protocols
  • Interface with production and planning teams to align maintenance schedules with operational priorities
  • Generate and maintain PM procedures and BOMs for all assets in CMMS
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions for non-stock materials and contractor services
  • Coordinate staging of tools, parts, and TPM supplies at maintenance stations
  • Monitor backlog, plan work orders, and adjust priorities based on asset criticality
  • Ensure MRO items are available and staged for work execution, collaborating closely with storeroom personnel
  • Continuously improve job plans based on technician and supervisory feedback
  • Partner with the Reliability Engineer to ensure PMs align with failure modes and root cause learnings
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance records remain ISO and audit compliant
  • Actively contribute to TPM, 5S, and plant-wide continuous improvement programs
  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor with coordinating day-to-day priorities and acting as backup as needed
  • Maintain and report on KPI metrics tied to schedule compliance, PM completion, and asset reliability
  • Train identified backups and cross-functional personnel to ensure continuity
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning, CMMS use, parts management, and basic root cause analysis
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills across departments and trades
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, CMMS platforms, and basic mechanical documentation
  • Familiarity with nonwoven technologies, winders, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, instrumentation, and drive systems
  • Experience with JDE or SAP ERP systems is a strong bonus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Work is performed in both office and industrial environments including around production lines, maintenance shops, warehouses, silos, and pumping stations. Occasional exposure to elevated platforms, stairs, and confined areas may be required for site assessment and planning purposes.

 

EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and stretch for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely navigate around operating machinery and ascend stairs when required
  • Available to work flexible hours on occasion to support a 24/7/365 operation

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

  • Frequent communication with Maintenance, Engineering, Production Planning, Storeroom, and Operations teams
  • Occasional interaction with external vendors and contractors
