Operating 24/7 we have vacancies on our night shift and our day shift.

Please indicate on you application which shift you are interested in.

Vacancy 1: Day Shift 0600 to 1800, shift pattern: 2 on/ 2 off / 3 on/ 2 off / 2 on / 3 off.

Vacancy 2: Night Shift 1800 to 0600 on a four on / four off pattern. Night shift attracts an additional premium

 

The post code for our site is CM9 4GG and is not served by rail or good bus links for the above shift patterns so you will need to be a driver with access to a vehicle if you do not live locally.

Responsibilities

This role will mainly be line based and includes all the standard responsibilities of an Operator with the addition of:

  • Responsible for the operations and safety of the assigned production lines and personnel, under limited supervision from the shift supervisors, with the ability to follow a plan and meet targets.

Responsible for the creation of SOPs and training of the operators to follow SOPs and to oversee the safe operation of the line(s)     

 

Safety

First and foremost, it is the responsibility of an operator to perform any and all tasks in a safe manner, keeping in mind safety on the job at all times.  It is expected that an operator will not only practice safety on the job, but will be responsible for the safety of others working in the manufacturing floor on their shift in their area.

This includes but isn’t limited to:

•       Support the completion of risk assessments

•       Reporting accidents and incidents

•       Complete Near Misses

•       Complete and submit BBS Observations

•       Comply with the following policies:

o   PPE

o   LOTO

o   Knife Safety

o   DNT

o   Red Card

o   All other safety policies

•       Assist in 6S inspections

Quality

•       Responsible for the return of measurement equipment that is due for calibration

•       Assist in the creation of SOPs.

•       Responsible for the disposition of questionable stock/products

•       Responsible for making sure that only calibrated equipment is used

•       Responsible when required for carrying out testing of products and ensuring it meets spec.

Supply Chain

•       Responsible for the communication to supply chain for feedstock replenishment

•       Reporting additional material used (additional to what the BOM says they’ll use)

Productivity / Performance

•       Operate the machinery

•       Accurately complete line reporting metrics.

•       Responsible for updating visual management boards hourly and on shift handovers.

Asset / Machine Performance

•       Responsible for carrying out selected PM’s.

Section 4:  Physical Requirements

Must be mobile, work all shift patterns and weekends, and travel occasionally

Section 5:  Education / Work Experience

Education (Degree/Major)

Apprentice trained or equivalent.

Certifications

A combination of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities in the manufacturing environment.

Work Experience

At least 2 years manufacturing experience. FLT experience preferred.

Language

Fully fluent in English - reading and spoken
