JOB SUMMARY:
The position is responsible in understanding the Rainforest Alliance mission, certification program (implementation, process). All information and data are considered confidential. No information may be released without appropriate authorization from the Management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stays abreast of internal and external changes that could affect the ongoing compliance of the management system, and typically coordinates external audits with certification bodies to validate initial and ongoing compliance to the pertinent management system standard, such as Sustainable Agriculture Network for Group certification.
- Analyzes internal and external audit findings and oversees growing problems and improving efficiencies.
- Familiarize with the SAN Standards (Sustainable Agriculture Network Standards) to be able to:
- Identify the respective principles and associated criteria for various agricultural practices.
- Do a self-assessment to identify non-compliance areas and rank them in order of priority
- prepare for certification (documentation)
- train farm members and administrators including trainers and inspectors.
- Recommends and drives corrective and preventive actions and improvement initiatives, and often provides leadership to internal audit teams.
- Ensures necessary processes are established, implemented and maintained.
- Communicates and documents issues timely and accurately. Report to executive management on how well the system is performing and what improvements are needed.
- Ensures the management system complies with requirements, such as those imposed by standards bodies and regulatory agencies (DENR, DOLE, etc), customers and other stakeholders to the management system's effectiveness.
- Other duties can include preparing and presenting training and communication materials designed to inform farm group members the system, changes, concepts, processes and needs.
- Promotes awareness throughout the farm group of the SAN standards.
- Ensures that all farm group members should be compliant with SAN standard and provide reports on its performance to executives, emphasizing continual improvement.
- Visits and inspects abaca farms, abaca traders and other stakeholders from time to time.
- May represents the Company in various meetings such as FIDA, PAP (Pulp Association of the Philippines) related to but not limited to abaca fibers.
- Reports to Management any information in the market, any peculiar activities and occurrence including fluctuations in prices in the abaca fiber industry.
- Performs and observes plant policies and procedures and safe working practices at the millsite and meet the Company’s mission of “injury free everyday”.
- Performs job responsibilities in compliance with all applicable Environmental, Hygiene and Safety operating procedures at all times.

- Performs other related duties as may be required from time to time by superiors or may be assigned to other work areas as necessary.

- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
- Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
- Self-motivated to maintain awareness of new and the potential application on farm group engagements
- Above average oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters, outlines, and complex reports and to orally communicate information to those with and without professional understanding
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports directly to the Fiber Procurement Manager.
- Supervises no one.
