Responsibilities

Role

The Reel Operator  has the qualifications and business acumen to effectively operate the Reel during production.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor and operate Reel during production
  • Computer software understanding
  • Manage flags and defects in parent roll by ensuring all flags are accounted for
  • Inform Shift Leader and Lead Operator if flags are missing.
  • Ensure metal detector is validated twice per shift
  • Responsible for threadup at the Reel during startups
  • Involved in quality investigations surrounding contamination and metal.
  • Slab off the top few layers before loading the roll in the Winder
  • Responsible for housekeeping at the Reel and Calender areas
  • Assist lab operator (if time permits)
  • Prepare roll for splice (if time permits)
  • Replenish tape and other supplies
  • Ensure tools are on the shadow board
  • Communicate with team members as needed, including a shift hand-off with previous and oncoming operator on shift review and planning
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience

 

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP principles.
