Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
  • Have exemplary personal conduct that demonstrates integrity, commitment, confidentiality, good judgment, fair, courtesy and a positive attitude to all co-workers, customers and vendors.

 

  • Be a “Champion” of safe work behaviors through:
    • Exemplary personal safety habits
    • Stringent enforcement of Safety Rules and Procedures
    • Regular performance of safety observations based on all safety policies and procedures for all areas of control. Observations are then used as a basis for coaching associates on safe work habits
    • Work with line leads to schedule associates for required safety training

 

  • Motivates team members to produce products that meet or exceed customer expectations by:
    • Promote proper day to day activities related to line setup and changeovers
    • Coordinate with lab to ensure production of quality products using sound statistical methods
    • Ensure team members have appropriate training and coaching in SPC
    • Regular performance of CTP/SOC Audit including product quality of materials
    • Audit packaging quality of all materials packaged as WIP or for shipment

 

  • Assume responsibility for “Human Resources” tasks with regard to team members for the following:
    • Work with Supervisor and line leads to create cross training plan
    • Audit the training of junior operators to ensure training is standard and is understood.
    • Work with department trainer to ensure proper documentation is available
    • Provide specific and timely performance feedback to supervisor for team members with properly identified strengths and improvement opportunities
    • Provides atmosphere that fosters open, honest communication within team, with other teams and across departments

 

  • Motivates team members to perform at or above expected levels of productivity by:
    • Direct daily work assignments in order to meet productivity goals
    • Verify line lead is accurately reporting/documenting downtime and raw material and other line related documentation
    • Ensure PPA/troubleshooting guides are followed as written
    • Works with Maintenance and Process Engineering to establish operational “Best Practices”
    • Facilitate problem solving efforts of the team to achieve production targets: Safety, Quality, and Productivity
    • Escalate persistent problems to Supervisor and appropriate resources and work with these resources to resolve the problems.

 

  • Daily Audit of 5S and housekeeping on the line and adjacent areas.

 

  • Support plant and company goals and values.

Qualifications

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED

 

  1. Experience: At least one year manufacturing experience. A current Berry Global forklift operator license is required.

 

Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a plant environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting, and the use of office equipment.
