Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs physical and clerical task for shipment and receipt of goods.  Responsible for correct shipment of product.  Operates forklift to transfer product to the warehouse and to load product onto trailers for shipment.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Observes all plant and departmental safety rules and regulations.
  • Comply with OSHA and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to lift truck operation and material handling.
  • Perform forklift inspections and report any issues. Responsible for battery maintenance and charging.
  • Operator dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issue identified.
  • Knowledge of all handling procedures for all materials, supplies and finished goods from operations.
  • Drives electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, pole, clamps, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
  • Positions forks or other lifting device under or around products and transports load to designated area.
  • Load & unload trailers using powered industrial truck.
  • Monitor First In – First Out inventory transactions.
  • Prepare &/or assembly required shipping documents as per site policies or as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Inspects product for any visible defects and ensures shipments are accurate.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in staging area.
  • Troubleshoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging or handling issues
  • Must report any variances in receiving, material moves to/from production and shipping transactions.
  • Responsible for quality control – no damage product shipped, no damaged raw materials accepted.
  • Participates in cycle count as required.
  • Follows all procedures including but not limited to work instructions, standard operating procedures, material specifications, and job safety analysis.
  • Participates in department and plant meetings and all training as required.
  • Move trailers from loading docks to storage area through use of onsite switch truck.
  • Other duties as assigned

  1. Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Experience: At least 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job functions will be carried out in the Warehouse and the Production area.

 

EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Candidates must be able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • The role requires the ability to prioritize work effectively and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in reading charts, documenting numbers, and recording events both on paper and digitally is necessary.
  • Following written and verbal instructions is crucial.
  • Additionally, the candidate should understand the group's objectives and be able to interact with both digital and basic computerized record and control systems.
