Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for safely unloading, staging, scanning and storing and loading raw materials and finished goods.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner.
  • Ensure compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with OSHA and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to lift truck operation and material handling and observes plant and departmental safety rules and regulations
  • Perform forklift inspections and report any issues. Responsible for battery maintenance, charging, changing and filling lift truck battery as needed
  • Operate dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issue identified
  • Knowledgeable of handling procedures for all materials to prevent accidents
  • Operate forklift, clamp truck and attachments in a safe manner
  • Store rolls in proper location in warehouse
  • Store tools and equipment in their designated areas
  • Load / Unload trailers to receive material and ship customer orders
  • Verify, identify and inspect a wide variety of incoming materials and supplies
  • Pulls, stages and ships customer orders
  • Responsible for various inventory transaction using barcode scanner and/or computer system.
  • Must report any variances in receiving and shipping transactions
  • Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures.
  • Responsible for quality control – no damage product shipped, no damaged raw materials accepted
  • Participated in cycle count14s as required
  • Follows all procedures including but not limited to work instructions, standard operating procedures, material specifications, and job safety analysis
  • Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including equipment and floor cleanliness, aisle maintenance, and common area appearance
  • Participate in department and plant meetings and all training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ Experience operating fork lifts with pole and clamp attachments in a manufacturing and warehouse setting
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Physical demandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects or tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, smell.  The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee will frequently climb up to three levels above floor level. 

Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors.  The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas.  The employee is frequently exposed to extremely high-speed machinery with open inward turning rolls, extremely hot surface areas and moving lift truck traffic.

Mental Abilities: Ability to make decisions regarding work priorities.   Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.   Ability to interact with digital and basic computerized record & control systems.
