JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading warehouse material handling operations to include daily job assignments. Warehouse Lead of 6T responsibilities include coordinating inbound truck unloading, product palletization, over-bag operations and outbound truck loading (customer shipments and internal movements) assignments. The lead will work in cooperation with the 6T Logistics Coordinator’s to ensure proper execution of special instructions and other customer requirements are followed. The warehouse lead will also ensure material handlers follow safe work practices and conduct housekeeping responsibilities and assignments.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely manage warehouses ensuring all warehouse staff and employees follow all safety protocols and attend routine safety meetings.
  • Assign material handlers to load shipments upon driver arrival and monitor in coop with LC’s
  • Assign and monitor order fulfillment responsibilities with material handlers
  • Monitor material handler productivity and work ethic, and report any deficiencies to Logistics Manager.
  • Establish / maintain operating schedules and routine practices to ensure on-time customer shipments.
  • Ensure product integrity and order filling accuracy
  • Use interpersonal and communication skills to motivate the work force and drive execution of policies and implement corrective measures if necessary to ensure productivity levels are met.
  • Maintain ISO level operation guidelines and metrics
  • Monitor housekeeping status and ensure proper follow-up, assignment and corrective action to problem areas.
  • Coordinates the training and development of employees. Includes identifying development needs, implementing programs as required, carefully monitoring progress, and coordinating with Logistics Manager.
  • Makes recommendations to management for Continuous Improvement opportunities and instills an entrepreneurial spirit within the company, encouraging the same among direct reports.
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.  Associate Degree or Higher Preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience in related field
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and have the ability to use computer system to create all paperwork to facilitate shipments
  • Exhibit good people skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Possess good time management skills and have the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, attentive to details, and results oriented.
  • SAP experience preferred

Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors.  The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas.  The employee is frequently exposed to high speed machinery, open inward turning rolls, and moving lift truck traffic.
