JOB SUMMARY:

Manage all outbound shipment activities including but not limited to monitoring inventory, creating deliveries and transfer orders, coordinating outbound transportation with logistics providers (Sontara or customer), generating/providing all necessary documentation, responding to inquiries, and handling questions in a prompt, courteous and effective manner. Please note Export and Domestic are handled at this location.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run daily delivery due report.
  • Generates all paperwork and necessary information required for outbound shipments, checks all orders for special requests within warehouse instructions, and posts goods issue in system when goods are picked up.
  • Coordinates shipment pick-ups with the logistics providers, expediting orders as necessary.
  • Interacts with logistics providers by phone or email in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Team player – provides and receives feedback, assist other LCs when needed.
  • Maintains current and accurate procedure book which details the processing requirements for outbound shipments.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with warehouse/supply chain colleagues and customer service team through open and interactive communication.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner, complies with all safety rules. Identifies and reports unsafe operations to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with customers.
  • Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
  • Meet personal/warehouse team goals – On time shipping –documentation accuracy.
  • Keep accurate records, and file documentation daily.
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and polices.
  • A positive attitude, even when faced with misplaced criticism or frustration.
  • Provide timely feedback to management regarding challenges or customer concerns.
  • Listen, document, and help resolve shipment conflicts.
  • Accountable for maintaining housekeeping expectations.
  • Assists with training needs in areas of familiarity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job in an office environment, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; the employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee may be required to travel occasionally. 

Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors.  The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas.  The employee is frequently exposed to high speed machinery with open inward rolls, high temperature surfaces and moving lift truck traffic.
