Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:
The Line Lead will be responsible for supporting the safety, training and development, and the maintenance of operational procedures to be followed out by the assigned personnel under the control of the Shift Supervisor.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner and are responsible for the safe performance of their team members.
• Participation in and active promotion of all safety initiatives, including HIBOs and Convergence.
• Ensure team members are following job safety and will confront any unsafe acts observed, as well as give positive feedback.
• Maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure the product meets customer-required and recognized quality standards.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor in understanding training and development needs for team members, as well as help execute the development of individuals.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations teams.
• Safely operate all equipment needed to perform job and cover/fill in for open positions, as needed.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, as well as, peers to solve problems and enhance capabilities of the team.
• Provide the shift supervisor with relevant information and data for performance reviews, conflict resolution, training and development, and potential challenges or opportunities as identified.
• Assist operators and coordinate troubleshooting activities. Refer to the process tech / engineer for root-cause solutions to recurring problems.
• Train others, as needed.
• Cover Shift Supervisor activities when supervisor is absent which includes but is not limited to:

o Understand and help positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.

o Communicate customer specifications/changes.

o Ensure required information is disseminated to the team through effective communication meetings, postings, and other methods as needed.

o Prepare safety and incident reporting (Velocity) when appropriate.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent is required. Technical Degree preferred. Or equivalent in education combined with experience.
  • 3-5 years of experiences working in a manufacturing environment. Personal computer experience, specifically with Microsoft Office products.
  • Lead or Supervisory experience is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed on the plant floor with frequent contact with others.

EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; manual dexterity.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
