The Product Development Summer Intern plays an essential role in supporting the team responsible for developing and commercializing new material solutions. This position is designed for a motivated, detail‑oriented individual who is eager to contribute to structured processes, analytical tools, and cross‑functional collaboration. The intern will help strengthen Magnera’s stage‑gate process, enhance visibility to project pipelines, and support digital transformation through analytics and automation. By contributing to these efforts, the intern directly supports Magnera’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining the stage‑gate process for product development activities
  • Organize workflows and standardize documentation to ensure clarity and consistency across stakeholders
  • Support automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and streamline data management
  • Manage and update pipeline reporting tools to maintain accurate, timely visibility into project status
  • Create and enhance Power BI dashboards to communicate trends, progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership
  • Apply artificial intelligence tools to support data analysis, automation, and reporting improvements
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product Development, R&D, Operations, Commercial, and other teams to ensure alignment throughout the commercialization and new product introduction process

Qualifications

  • Rising Juniors or Seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Product Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Interest in product development, innovation, and process improvement
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard creation and basic data modeling
  • Familiarity with AI tools or automated analytics platforms (highly preferred)
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross‑functional teams
  • Self‑starter with the initiative to lead components of projects and drive tasks forward
